Beyonce’s upcoming film, Black Is King is coming to Disney+ on July 31.
The movie is inspired by last year’s reboot of The Lion King, in which she voiced Nala, and is the visual album to her executive produced-soundtrack, The Lion King: The Gift.
In anticipation of its release, Beyonce shares another look of the film with its second trailer. Last month, the previous preview was premiered on her website at Beyonce.com.
Written, directed, and executive produced by Beyonce, Black Is King is described as a celebration of the Black experience and reimagines the lessons from The Lion King for today’s younger generation.
Black Is King will also include the music videos of the soundtrack’s songs “My Power”, “Mood 4 Eva”, and “Brown Skin Girl” as well as cameos from special guests and some of the soundtrack’s featured artists. The Gift included contributions from Jay-Z, Blue Ivy Carter, Kendrick Lamar, Childish Gambino, Pharrell, Tierra Whack, Jessie Reyez, SAINt JHN, Burna Boy, and more.
Last week, Beyonce released “Black Parade“, in celebration of Juneteenth with the song’s proceeds benefiting her BeyGOOD’s Black Business Impact Fund.
